In its 90-year history, JLE-NS has contributed over $3.2 million to the community through projects and programs. Over the past several years, net proceeds from their fundraisers have supported their League’s focus area of Advancing Employment and Supporting Families. Their goal is to improve local issues that impact Chicago’s Northern Suburbs, including: economic self-sufficiency, happy, healthy families, domestic violence, secondary education, and additional causes.

The Junior League of Evanston-North Shore provided Uweza with a grant that made it possible for us to initiate our Bright Futures program. They were also involved in naming the program, creating the logo, and providing oversight. The Junior League also sells jewelry created by women in Kenya every year at their Marketplace grant to raise funds for the program.
